Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Prompt Saver keeps your prompt library on your device. This policy explains the separate handling of extension data, visits to this website, support messages, and information related to a Premium purchase.
Your prompts are not uploaded to us. The extension does not include advertising or analytics. This website uses cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and performance. We do not embed advertising trackers or social-media tracking widgets.
1. Who to contact
Prompt Saver operates this product and website. For information we receive directly, such as your support messages, we decide how that information is used as described in this policy. Contact [email protected] with any privacy question or request. Our product contact details are also in the Terms & Conditions.
2. Information stored by the extension
The extension uses chrome.storage.local in your browser profile to store:
- Prompt titles, text, category assignments, favorites, and creation dates.
- Categories and custom AI tool names and links.
- Theme and interface-language preferences.
- The last selected category, extension search query, and library scroll positions, to restore the extension when reopened.
- A selected-text draft when you choose the quick-capture context-menu action.
- License details and activation state, if you activate a license.
These items are used to provide the features you request. Your library is not synchronized to our servers. The extension's search and file import run locally. Copying a prompt writes it to your device's clipboard; your operating system, clipboard history, or clipboard synchronization settings may handle it separately.
Export creates a JSON or TXT file on your device. Where you subsequently store, share, or upload that file is under your control.
Optional insertion into an AI website
When you explicitly choose to open a builtin AI service and insert a prompt, Chrome asks for optional access to that selected website. Once approved, the selected prompt is placed in that site's input field. The AI provider can process text entered on its pages under its own privacy policy, including before you press Send. Prompt Saver never presses Send automatically. An existing value may be replaced if it matches an unchanged saved prompt assigned to the same AI; other drafts are preserved. The same selected prompt is not inserted twice. Prompt text is not put in URLs, and our servers do not receive it.
To recognize an unchanged saved prompt, the insertion task temporarily includes SHA-256 fingerprints of saved prompts assigned to the selected AI. The page handler compares these locally; the text of other saved prompts is not transferred to it.
A pending insertion uses temporary Chrome session storage and applies only to the tab opened by your action. The pending prompt is removed after the attempt or tab closure; session storage is also cleared on browser restart or extension reload. Attempts expire after two minutes. If an editor is unavailable or you choose the manual option, the prompt can be copied for manual pasting. Custom AI links use copy-and-open without website access. You can revoke granted website access through Chrome's extension settings.
Prompt Saver's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for the disclosed prompt-library features, not for advertising or resale.
Browser permissions
The storage permission supports your local library, preferences, and temporary insertion jobs. The contextMenus permission lets you save text you explicitly select using quick capture. Optional scripting and website access let the extension insert a selected prompt into an approved AI website. Access is requested for that site when you choose the feature, not for all websites on installation. The extension does not collect browsing history.
Deleting local information
You can delete prompts in the extension. Uninstalling the extension or clearing its storage removes its stored local data. Exported files, browser or device backups, and clipboard history must be removed separately. We do not hold a server copy and cannot access, restore, or remotely erase your local library.
3. Website hosting, analytics, and cookies
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Loading a page sends normal HTTP request information to Cloudflare, such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser headers. Cloudflare may process connection and security information to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and maintain its infrastructure.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits and improve website performance. Cloudflare adds a measurement script to this website, and we view reports in its dashboard. Metrics can include visits, page views, the website hostname and page path, referring pages, browser and operating-system information, device type, country, and page-load and Core Web Vitals measurements.
According to Cloudflare, Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to measure usage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not log URL query strings. These analytics practices are separate from the hosting and security processing described above. We do not use website analytics for advertising profiles.
Website analytics does not access your Chrome extension storage. We do not send your prompt library, categories, quick-capture drafts, license keys, or extension usage events to Web Analytics. See the Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation, data collection information, and Web Analytics FAQ for the provider's current practices.
Cookies and other website features
We do not add analytics, advertising, or personalization cookies. Cloudflare may use necessary security mechanisms, including security cookies where applicable. Website hosting and analytics are separate from the prompt library stored in your extension.
Read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for its processing practices. The site does not contain a registration form, public prompt submission form, or embedded payment-card form.
4. Support messages
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or details you choose to send. We use this information to answer you, troubleshoot the product, handle refund or privacy requests, and keep a record of the request where necessary.
Our support address is a Gmail mailbox, so Google processes the email as part of providing that service. See Google's Privacy Policy. Do not send passwords, full payment-card information, sensitive prompts, or other personal information that is not needed for your request.
5. Premium purchases and license activation
Premium checkout and remote license verification are not currently enabled. When you use an official checkout, the provider identified there may collect your email address, billing details, payment information, and transaction or fraud-prevention information.
For purchases through Creem, Creem acts as merchant of record. We may receive order identifiers, the purchaser's email address, the purchased product, and payment or refund status to deliver Premium access and provide support. Payment-card processing is handled by the checkout provider; we do not request full card numbers or security codes.
Creem describes its handling of merchant and buyer information in its Privacy Notice.
If remote license verification is enabled, the extension's verification request contains the license key and payment-provider identifier. The server also receives ordinary connection metadata, such as the IP address. Prompt text, categories, custom AI links, and quick-capture text are not included in that verification request. The local license state is used to enable Premium features.
6. Purposes and legal grounds
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, information needed to deliver purchases, activate access, and answer related requests is used to perform a contract or take steps you request before a contract. Necessary security and support administration rely on legitimate interests in protecting and operating the product. Records required by tax, accounting, or other applicable laws are kept to meet those legal obligations. Optional processing requiring consent would be introduced with an appropriate choice before it starts.
7. Sharing, location, and security
We do not sell your personal information. We share received information only as needed with service providers involved in hosting, email support, payments, or license delivery, or where required by law. Independent AI websites you visit handle information under their own policies.
Cloudflare, Google, and payment providers may process information in countries outside your own. Their published privacy terms describe the locations and transfer safeguards that apply to their services. No international transfer of your prompt library is made by the extension as part of ordinary local storage.
We use HTTPS for this website and restrict access to support and administrative information. Your device and Chrome profile remain important parts of local data security. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Retention
Local extension data remains in your browser until you delete it, clear storage, or uninstall the extension, subject to your browser and device settings. Exported files remain wherever you save them until you remove them.
Cloudflare currently provides analytics reports covering the previous six months. Analytics, hosting, and security records follow Cloudflare's published retention practices.
Support records are kept for as long as necessary to address the request and any related dispute or legal obligation, then deleted when no longer needed. Purchase and refund records may need to be retained for applicable accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution requirements. Hosting and provider records follow the relevant provider's retention practices.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy of your data, restrictions on processing, or object to certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting prior lawful processing. You may also complain to your applicable data-protection authority.
Email [email protected] to make a request about information we hold. We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request. For local prompts and exports, use the deletion or export controls described above, because we cannot access those files remotely.
10. Children and policy changes
The product is not directed at children below the age at which they can lawfully use it in their country. If you believe a child has sent us personal information without appropriate permission, contact us.
We update this page when data handling changes and show the revision date at the top. Any material change requiring notice or consent will be handled as required by applicable law.
